My Own Home

Seven years ago this week, I was shivering and pooping in a cage in a shelter in Los Angeles when D walked in and gave me a chance at a new life. Our home has changed several times, and we've gained the most wonderful human, A, and now have a baby on the way (though I'm still hoping it will be a puppy), but I'm happy wherever we are, as long as we're together.

Here are some photos I took of my home recently. It's bright and warm (especially on the heater), and gives me lots of room to run around, and bestest of all, it's full of love!

Forgive the mushiness, I know it's not my usual tone. I just get a bit sentimental this time of year. Thanks to all the other humans who have given shelter dogs like me a home. Please support your local shelter whenever you can!

Smurf a Happy Tune

Here is the first photo I have ever taken of my other obsession besides photography. Isn't it a beauty?
The humans call it "hydrant," but I just call it love. So many wonderful smells! Changing with each walk! What could be better??

Into the woods

Here are some photos I took when I finally ventured out after last week's crazy storm.
I'm so glad it's finally melting. So far it's beautiful out this weekend! Could this mean spring is on the way?

Snow Day

I may be a mix of breeds, but one thing is for sure, there is not one whisker of husky in me. Shiver shiver.
The dreaded white stuff is back, covering all of my beautiful grass. Have I mentioned that I hate being out in it? Brrrrr. Ran out for just long enough to take one photo for you.

Then back inside to watch it from my favorite place inside the house, my warm seat on the heater.
From here, I can look out at all of those poor souls freezing their tails off out there while I'm nice and toasty!

My Funny Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Here are some photos I took of the snow around my neighborhood...

A dug out the snow so I would have some grass to pee on. Now that's what I call a Valentine! Hope yours was love-filled too!

Baby love

I'm sorry I have been so out of touch. This has been a very busy few months around my homestead. Evidently there is something big that is going to happen around here in a few months. The humans keep pointing to D's belly and saying something about a new baby --which is what they sometimes call me-- which has lead me to believe that she may be having a puppy. Can you believe it? I'm not sure what I think about it yet, but they keep saying it's very exciting. I'm going to be a big sister. I have to admit, I like being the only pup around here, but at the very least I hope it's a mutt like me.

I have taken some photos recently, but have been shooting a lot less because of the cold. I can't wait till it is warm enough for me to play around outside more and go back to the dog park. Those are my favorite times to photograph. Here are a few from last weekend. It's snowing like crazy here today, so hopefully I'll get some fun snowy shots to share soon!

Hazy Shade of Winter

Guess what I got for the holidays? A new camera! When I took it out for a spin, I got snow all over the lens while sniffing, so I ended up getting some neat swirly whirly shots.

Yellow snow is my favorite kind...

I was so glad the storm was over so I could run around. Weeeeeee...

But brrrr. Baby, it's cold outside...

Happy holidays everyone! Stay warm!

Don't Rain On My Parade

This morning I was going about my normal business, when I started hearing boom booms coming from outside. It wasn't the boom booms like on New Year's or July 4th, they just kept going on and on. After further investigation, I discovered that there was a parade, starting right at the end of my street! Here I am checking out the action...

Here are some of the photos I took. There were humans wearing feathers on their heads. How curious. They looked like very large birds, and so I have to admit, I wanted to eat them a little bit...

But I couldn't get close enough to eat them because of the barricades...

This girl was way more interested in me than in the parade. I can't blame her though...

This was one of the marching bands...

This yellow band was really good. They danced around and had fluffy things on their shoes that looked like my toys. I wanted to eat them too...

Unfortunately I could only go for a little while because the big round bangy things were really loud and when they came close to me I got scared and started shaking, so we went home, but not before getting to see Santa on a firetruck! It was too high up for me to take a photo, but I had the humans get one for me.

My new town is really fun!

Blue (Da Ba Dee)

I tried to go out and take a bunch more photos the other day, but for some reason my camera only wanted me to take 2 pictures, when I usually can take 40. It must have really wanted me to take these two!
